Sorrento è al centro di una zona abitata sin dal Neolitico, a testimonianza di ciò, ci sono reperti archeologici custoditi in parte nel Museo Correale di Terranova, a Sorrento, e in parte a Villa Fondi, nel Museo George Vallet, a Piano di Sorrento.

Ma la testimonianza di un ciclo culturale così ampio, si trova in tutta la costiera, con uno scrigno di palazzi monumentali, di antichi portali, di chiese, di fontane, e di monumenti scultorei che si trovano nelle piazze e nelle strade della costiera.

In questa sezione del sito si vuole proporre diverso materiale, utile al visitatore, per avere sempre la possibilità, di comprendere, negli elementi basici, l’opera monumentale che si ha di fronte.

Questa sezione è sempre “work in progress”, e progressivamente ampliata con i diversi Beni storici da divulgare, in alcuni monumenti si potrà entrare all’interno per un breve viaggio interattivo e in 3d.

Sorrento is at the center of an area inhabited since Neolithic times, as proof of this, there are archaeological remains housed in part in the Correale Museum at Sorrento, and part of Villa Fondi, in the Museum George Vallet, Piano di Sorrento.

But the testimony of a cultural cycle so wide, is located across the coast, with a treasure trove of palaces, ancient doorways, churches, fountains, sculptures and monuments found in the squares and streets of the coast.

In this section you want to propose a different material, useful to the visitor, to always have the possibility to understand, in the basic elements, the monumental work that one has before.

This section is always "work in progress", and gradually expanded to the different historical heritage to be disclosed, in some monuments it can come inside for a short interactive journey and in 3d.
